Stochastic Control of Mean Field Models with Mixed Players
We consider mean field stochastic systems consisting of a major player and a large number of minor players. We study decentralized strategies for both game and social optimization problems. For the game problem, the objective is to obtain asymptotic Nash equilibria. For the social optimization problem, the objective is to nearly minimize a weighted sum of the individual costs. A very peculiar f...
متن کاملA Mean-field Stochastic Control Problem with Partial Observations∗
In this paper we are interested in a new type of mean-field-type, non-Markovian stochastic control problems with partial observations. More precisely, we assume that the coefficients of the controlled dynamics depend not only on the paths of the state, but also on the conditional law of the state, given the observation to date. Our problem is strongly motivated by the recent study of the mean f...
متن کاملMean field stochastic games for SINR-based medium access control
In this paper we study medium access control with interference management. We formulate a SINR-based dynamic channel access as a stochastic game in which the players adapt their retransmission scheme based on their own backoff state. We analyze the asymptotics of the system using mean field dynamics. Both stable and unstable behaviors are illustrated.
متن کاملExact Stochastic Mean-Field dynamics
Abstract. The exact evolution of a system coupled to a complex environment can be described by a stochastic mean-field evolution of the reduced system density. The formalism developed in Ref. [1] is illustrated in the Caldeira-Leggett model where a harmonic oscillator is coupled to a bath of harmonic oscillators. Similar exact reformulation could be used to extend mean-field transport theories ...
متن کاملMean-field limit for the stochastic Vicsek model
We consider the continuous version of the Vicsek model with noise, proposed as a model for collective behavior of individuals with a fixed speed. We rigorously derive the kinetic mean-field partial differential equation satisfied when the number N of particles tends to infinity, quantifying the convergence of the law of one particle to the solution of the PDE. For this we adapt a classical coup...
